Accessibility statement

Last updated: 27 October 2026

This statement covers snapfile.uk, including the Making Tax Digital checker, the mileage calculator, the guides and the Snapfile dashboard. We want as many people as possible to be able to use Snapfile. You should be able to:

  • use the whole website with a keyboard alone
  • zoom to 400% and read pages on a screen 320 pixels wide without scrolling sideways
  • use the site in light or dark mode, following your device setting
  • use a screen reader: pages have one main heading, a skip link, labelled form fields and landmarks
  • use the checker and calculator without your figures leaving your device

How we test

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. On 27 October 2026 we tested the main pages in light and dark mode with automated checks (axe-core, WCAG 2.1 A and AA rules), which found no failures, and we tested them using only a keyboard, checking that interactive elements show a visible focus indicator and that the checker and calculator work without a mouse. Automated checks cannot find every problem, and we have not yet had the site tested by disabled people or by an independent auditor. We plan to do both before Snapfile opens fully.

Known limitations

  • WhatsApp: most of Snapfile happens in WhatsApp, so its accessibility also depends on WhatsApp and your device's settings. Every message Snapfile sends is plain text with emoji used only alongside words.
  • Receipt images: receipts you send open as the original photo or PDF, which may not be readable by a screen reader. The details Snapfile reads from them (supplier, date, amount and category) are shown as text in your dashboard.
  • Downloads: the spreadsheet export is a plain CSV file and the deadlines calendar is a standard calendar file; how they read depends on the app you open them in.

Tell us about a problem
